Promise to Remember Me Campaign Update

On March 12th Maryland Advocates met with Representative Steny Hoyer in his district office in Waldorf, MD. Heather and Doug Vereen and their 10 year old son Zachary spoke about his use of the pump and how he doesn't let T1D stop him from playing his favorite sports- including lacrosse. Advocate Andrea Koshko spoke about the challenges of adolescence and managing diabetes. Bonnie and Les Warrington relayed stories about their niece and how she is currently in graduate school. Congressman Hoyer inquired about health insurance and asked about the most recent research and treatments and how NIH plays a role in research. He also thanked JDRF volunteers for raising money to contribute to the research for a cure.

Tour de Talbot

JDRF and Midshore RIVERKEEPER Conservancy are teaming to jointly host rides of 100 miles, 60 miles, and 20 miles.

The Century ride will kickoff at 7:30 am, the 60 mile ride and family ride will follow at 9:30 am. All rides will start and finish at the Talbot Country Club, all rides are fully supported, with food and drink at rest stops included in registration **KELLY PRO CYCLING team will be leading the century so all challengers are welcome! Those who register before September 20th will receive a free lunch coupon and t-shirt! food and drink will also be available for purchase at the Talbot Country Club following the rides.

All registration fees will be split equally between Midshore RIVERKEEPER Conservancy and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Participants are encouraged to raise additional funds for one or both host organizations.
