JDRF Maryland Youth Delegation
We are happy to introduce a new opportunity for our JDRF Maryland kids! The Youth Delegation!
We are looking for kids between the age of 5-18 to help represent JDRF and type 1 diabetics within our communities as a Youth Delegate. Most of the families active within JDRF have a connection with this disease, live with it and thrive. As an organization, we do a lot of work cultivating support beyond our families and reach out to individuals, corporations and organizations that may not have that connection. Our goal is to introduce them to our organization and devote them to our cause. Our kids are a way to make that connection. We want people to see that these kids with T1D could just as easily be their child, grandchild, niece and/or nephew, friend or neighbor.
Opportunities for Youth Delegates may include participating in JDRF sponsored events and 3rd party events, and thanking our sponsors and corporate partners either in person or via a card, or other miscellaneous occasions.
Each year, a group of children will be selection from The Delegation to represent JDRF Maryland as Youth Ambassadors for a year. In this role, they will truly be the “Face of JDRF Maryland” for the year. In order to be considered for Youth Ambassador, you must be a Youth Delegate.
If you and your child think that this might be something they would like to do, please check out the Youth Delegate Application, then complete and submit the information requested. That’s it! Your child will then be added to The Delegation, and we will keep in touch as opportunities present themselves!
